If using Windows, execute the installer package. The installer will
locate the previous installation and move your recipes into the new
version. If using Mac or Linux,
uninstall or delete any previous package (you will not lose your
ingredients and recipes). Then, simply install the new package.
Brewtarget also exists in the Debian and Fedora repositories, so you
can install with
sudo apt-get install brewtarget
or
sudo yum install brewtarget
respectively. For those using
Ubuntu, you can get the latest release by using our
PPA.
If using Mac or Linux, the newly installed Brewtarget will ask if you would like to add the new recipes and ingredients; say yes. If using Windows, the installer will locate and import your old recipes.
To introduce yourself to the interface, please follow the tutorial given in the Brewtarget manual in the "About" menu. It covers the basics of designing a recipe and also gives details about the tools and other parts of the software.
